SUPPORT

As a charity, we depend on the kindness and generosity of those who support us, whether it be people giving their time as volunteers, financial resources, or by praying for our work. We are very grateful for all the help and support we receive.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Time

There are over 40 people who give their time in some way to be involved in the Trust’s work. Some make up our team of staff and associates working in schools, others provide vital support roles behind the scenes as Trustees or on our Support Teams.  Still others, our 'Church Reps', provide an important communication link between BSCWT and the local churches.

If you are a Christian with a passion for schools as well as skills that could be used in this work, please get in touch with us here.

Prayer

We believe that prayer is a crucial foundation of our work as we seek to be always dependent on God and what He is doing. As well as praying frequently and regularly within the Trust, we very much value those who pray for us and for the local schools. Again there are a number of ways to be involved in praying:

  • Hopefully your church is actively praying for local schools. Join with those prayers as they happen either in services, small groups or special meetings. If you don’t see much prayer for schools going on in your church, why not try to get some going?
  • There are some schools where there is an active prayer group specifically for that school. Contact us to find out more.
  • We send out various resources to help people to pray in an informed way. We can send you a weekly prayer update by email and/or a termly prayer calendar. To sign up to receive these, click here.

For some general guidance on what and who to pray for, please download our 'Praying for the Schools of Brentwood' leaflet from the Downloads page.

Finance & Gifts

We are always in need of financial support for our work to continue and to develop. There are a number of ways to support BSCWT financially:

  • Set up a regular standing order from your bank account to ours. This really helps us to plan for the future as we are more able to forecast our income. You can download a Standing Order Mandate here.
  • Donate securely online via www.stewardship.org.uk/partners/20028156.
  • Simply send a cheque, payable to Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust (or BSCWT) to our office.
  • We're always on the look out for certain gifts in kind such as up-to-date computers or computer equipment that may be of use to us, or Youth/Children's Bibles that we can use in school clubs. If you have something in good condition that you think could be of use, please get in touch.
  • If you’re feeling creative, perhaps you could put on an event in your church and send any money raised in our direction.
  • If you are making or revising your will, please consider leaving a legacy to BSCWT. You can find more information in our Wills and Legacies leaflet.
  • There are many churches that support BSCWT financially. If you are part of one of those churches, you could make a donation through the church and ask for it to be added to the churches’ giving to our work.
  • You can make an electronic transfer directly to our bank account (please contact our office for details). We would be grateful if you would add the letters GA (for Gift Aid) to your bank reference if your donation is Gift Aided.

NB. When you send any financial donations to us, please let us know if you are a UK taxpayer and can Gift Aid your donation (this means the government will give us 25p for every £1 you donate). Download a Gift Aid Declaration here.  Thank you
