The BSCWT team is at work in most of the schools in the Brentwood area. There are five core activities we offer: assemblies, lessons (including some large projects), pupil support, lunchtime clubs and 'prayer spaces'.
In some schools, members of our team serve as Chaplains to help pupils develop spiritually and to offer a listening ear to pupils who may need some extra support.
It’s all about Christians serving pupils and staff in schools.
Members of our team take regular assemblies in many primary, secondary and specialist schools. Each assembly focuses on helping pupils to reflect on some aspect of life and how the Christian faith relates to it.
We take a variety of lessons in schools, including lessons about Christmas or Easter, or Question & Answer lessons about our Christian faith. In the summer term, our "It's Your Move" project involves taking lessons to help Year 6 pupils prepare for the move to secondary school.
We also offer some other special lessons known as OT Mini / NT Mini (formerly Bible Explorer), a series of exciting lessons exploring what the Bible is all about.
In some schools, through our team of Chaplains, we provide pastoral support for individuals or small groups of students. This support can take various forms such as one-to-one mentoring or group work dealing with issues such as resilience or anxiety.
Our lunchtime clubs in schools are open to all pupils and are designed to help them explore the Christian faith through games, discussions, reflection and storytelling.
We also provide 'Prayer Spaces' in schools, which offer opportunities for pupils to reflect on some of the deeper questions of life. These include seasonal 'prayer spaces' such as 'Christmas Wonder' and 'Love Easter'.
