Since 1991, the primary and secondary schools of the Brentwood Borough have had the support of the Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust (BSCWT for short!). Our aim is to serve school communities by providing Christian learning and support through our team of staff and volunteers. Whether you're a school pupil, a member of school staff, a supporter of the Trust or a member of a local church, we hope you'll be able to find out more about who we are and what we do through this website. If you can't find what you're looking for, please let us know via the contact page.
We are delighted that our Digital Christmas Projects, Christmas Unwrapped and Darkness to Light, are now available for our local schools.
As we continue to find ways to serve schools despite the current restrictions, we are excited that our Autumn Term Newsletter is now available so you can catch up with what we've been doing. Click here for your copy or visit our Downloads page.
Due to current government guidance, our office is in partial use and our staff are working from home supporting schools remotely, as well visiting some schools to provide much-needed pastoral support to children and young people. We are also continuing to pray for our local schools, for school staff and for pupils in these challenging times.
Please visit our new ASSEMBLIES page for lots of useful resources for virtual school 'assemblies'.
THE BAD NEWS: Normally each summer term, our ‘It’s Your Move’ team would take many lessons in primary schools, helping Year 6 pupils get ready for the move to secondary school. Sadly, due to the current restrictions, we couldn’t do that this year.
THE GOOD NEWS: So we re-created our ‘It’s Your Move’ project as a digital resource pack that was used by teachers with pupils in school AND by pupils learning at home. With the support of our local churches, we also delivered almost 1000 ‘It’s Your Move’ books (published by Scripture Union) as a gift to local Year 6 pupils. Visit our ‘It’s Your Move’ (IYM) page for all the resources.
Best wishes to all our local Year 6 pupils. We hope you are now doing well in your secondary school!
Our Director of schools Work made a recent guest appearance on Phoenix98FM, talking with Patrick Sherring about how we've continued to serve schools during the 'lockdown', including our 'It's Your Move' project. You can listen to the interview here (it starts at 14 minutes and 15 seconds and ends at 47 minutes and 48 seconds).
