The BSCWT team is made up of many different people from a variety of churches around the Brentwood borough. Find out more about who’s who below.
Alison joined our staff team as a Schools Worker in 2019 and works part-time in primary and secondary schools. She has a degree in History, is a qualified teacher and has previously worked in teaching and support roles in schools, as well as doing Christian schools work with Youth for Christ.
Evie joined our staff team in 2023 as our part-time Project Administrator. She has a higher diploma in Primary Education and has previously worked in administrative positions and voluntary childcare roles.
Fiona has worked in many secretarial and administrative roles, has various relevant qualifications and joined our team in 2007 as our Administrator. She is now our part-time Operations Manager and is also one of our Schools Workers.
Frances joined our staff team as a Schools Worker in 2019 and works part-time in primary and secondary schools. She has an Education degree and a diploma in Youth Ministry. Frances has worked in various job and volunteer roles with children and young people.
Holly joined our staff team as a Schools Worker in 2019 and works part-time in primary and secondary schools. She has a degree in History and is a qualified early years teacher.
Ian is a qualified teacher who was Head of History at a secondary school in Colchester. He has also worked for churches in Brentwood and Canada. Ian worked for BSCWT as an interim schools worker in 1999 and rejoined our staff in 2006 as part-time Director of Schools Work, overseeing the team of staff & associate workers.
Sue joined the staff in 2007 and works part-time as our Lead Schools Worker, focusing especially on our work in primary schools. She has previous teaching experience and a PhD in Philosophy.
Working alongside our staff team, we have an amazing group of dedicated Associate Workers who volunteer with us in schools.
The Trustees are drawn from several different churches and they oversee the work of BSCWT.
Helen Burgess is a retired doctor, as well as being one of our associate workers, and is part of St Mary the Virgin Church in Great Warley.
Jeff Fair worked for many years as a teacher in a local secondary school.
Mick Bastable is our Safeguarding Officer and is part of Brentwood Baptist Church.
Nick Higgs works in the IT sector and is part of Sawyers Church where he volunteers as a youth worker.
Rev'd Canon Paul Hamilton is Rector of St Nicholas' and St Stephen's churches in Ingrave.
Sally McMahon is a recently-retired secondary school teacher. She is part of Billericay Baptist Church.
Tim Barfoot has lived in Brentwood and been a member of a local church for over 50 years. He currently trains new recruits to the Metropolitan Police.
Our Support Teams consist of volunteers providing crucial back up for our work in schools. These include our Finance Team and our Monitoring Team.
Our Church Reps help to keep the people in local churches informed about what BSCWT is doing. If your church doesn’t have a Church Rep, please let us know if you’d like to volunteer!
