The BSCWT team is made up of many different people from a variety of churches around the Brentwood borough. Find out more about who’s who below.

STAFF TEAM

Alison Carmichael

Alison Carmichael

Alison Carmichael

Alison joined our staff team in 2019 and works part-time in both primary and secondary schools.   She has a degree in History, is a qualified teacher and has previously worked in teaching and support roles in schools, as well as doing Christian schools work with Youth for Christ. Alison attends Ingatestone Elim Church.

Fiona has worked in many secretarial and administrative roles, has various relevant qualifications and joined our team in 2007 as part-time Administrator for BSCWT.  She is also one of our Schools Workers and is part of St Paul’s Church, Bentley. 

Frances Coe

Frances joined our staff team in 2019 and works part-time in both primary and secondary schools. She has an Education degree and a diploma in Youth Ministry. Frances attends Breakthru Church and has worked in various job and volunteer roles with children and young people.

Gelila joined our staff team in 2019 as a part-time Project Administrator. 

She has a degree in Computer Networks and has previously worked in I.T. as well as volunteering in some Educational sectors. Gelila attends Trinity Church.

Holly joined our staff team in  2019 and works part-time in primary and secondary schools. She has a degree in History and is a qualified early years teacher. Holly attends Trinity Church where she is part of the youth work team.

Ian Kemble

Ian is a qualified teacher who was Head of History at a secondary school in Colchester. He has also worked for churches in Brentwood and Canada and is now part of Doddinghurst Road Community Church. Ian worked for BSCWT as an interim schools worker in 1999 and rejoined our staff in 2006 as part-time Director of Schools Work, overseeing the team of staff & associate workers.

 Sue joined the staff in 2007 and works part-time leading much of our work in primary schools. She has previous teaching experience, a PhD in Philosophy and is part of St. Peter's Church in South Weald.

 Working alongside our staff team, we have an amazing group of dedicated Associate Workers who volunteer with us in schools. 

Trustees

The Trustees are drawn from several different churches and they oversee the work of BSCWT. 


Christine Drew was headteacher of an infant school and is part of Sawyers Church.  


Jeff Fair worked for many years as a teacher in a local secondary school. 


Joan Dewhirst is a retired teacher, as well as being one of our associate workers, and is part of Sawyers Church. 


Mick Bastable is our Safeguarding Officer and is part of Brentwood Baptist Church. 


Sally McMahon is a secondary school teacher. She is part of Brentwood Baptist Church.


Support Teams

Our Support Teams consist of volunteers providing crucial back up for our work in schools.  These include our Finance Team and our Monitoring Team.

Church Representatives

Our Church Reps help to keep the people in local churches informed about what BSCWT is doing. If your church doesn’t have a Church Rep, please let us know if you’d like to volunteer!
